How to Obtain Mississippi Marriage Certificates
By law, the state of Mississippi was not required to keep birth or death certificates until 1 November 1912. Birth and death records since that time have been kept by the Bureau of Vital Statistics. Marriage records from 1926-1938 and from 1942 on are also housed there. There is a statewide marriage index available, organized by name of groom, for the years prior to 1926.
